Go-Dogo in action!

Several months ago I saw an innovation on a CBS show Innovation Nation from the Henry Ford Museum. One of the clips was about a method to keep your dog actively engaged if you were away or if you needed a different play time. I looked them up online but they were not yet selling in the United States. Recently, that changed and we became one of the first customers in the US. We are extremely pleased with this system.

We have a very energetic 6 month old Golden Retriever puppy. He spends most weekdays with me in my office sleeping. Realizing this was not the best learning or engaging environment we were happy to become a customer of Go-Dogo. Now at least twice a day we load our Go-Dogo egg with 20 treats and turn on the game. The system has a camera on the treat dispenser which sits above the TV and a side camera to capture our puppy’s response to commands. I can’t begin to tell you how excited he is every time he hears the hosts voice and the initial chime. He has learned to go to the TV and wait for a command. The video shows some of the setup and how our puppy responds to the commands. By the way, the towel on the floor makes it easier for him to find the dark treats that are dispensed. Also the Big Bang at the first of the video was due to some remodeling across from my office, not the game.

While still a puppy and distracted by almost everything, he has learned to pay attention and perform commands in order to be rewarded with a treat. We can’t wait to see him continue to grow with this system. The team at Go-Dogo is very helpful and they have lot’s of research to explain how keeping your dog engaged improves their life. While ours is a puppy and it is great training for him, it is also great mental stimulation for older dogs.
